Key takeaways
- Check your current agreement and notice period before anything else.
- List open paid requests and scheduled posts so no fan is left waiting.
- Reconcile the final statement separately from the handover of work.
- Remove old access on an agreed date and confirm it in writing.
- Never put passwords, recovery codes or payout details in the checklist.
What the checklist covers
| Section | Fields |
|---|---|
| The page | Account alias, platform, owner |
| People | Outgoing contact, incoming contact |
| Dates | Agreed end date, notice confirmed on |
| Access | Type of permission, date it will be reviewed or removed, access removed (yes/no) |
| Open work | Pending paid requests (reference only), who delivers them and by when, approved content folder, scheduled posts |
| Money | Final accounting period, how refunds are treated, final statement checked |
| Closing | Open questions, handover accepted on |
The order that keeps it calm
- Before you give notice: read your agreement – notice period, what happens to open requests, how the final statement works. Our contract checklist shows what to look for.
- When you give notice: do it in writing and note the confirmation date.
- During the notice period: list open paid requests and scheduled posts, agree who delivers what, and where approved content lives.
- On the handover date: remove or review old access as agreed. Our journal piece on safe account access explains how.
- Afterwards: check the final statement, settle refunds and note the date the handover was accepted.
A fictional example
Invented entries, to show how the fields fit together:
| Field | Example |
|---|---|
| Account alias | Page M (fictional) |
| Open paid request | Custom set, reference C-07 |
| Delivered by | The creator, by an agreed date |
| Access | Delegated permission removed on the end date |
| Closing | Delivery and final statement confirmed separately |
What never goes into the checklist
Passwords, recovery codes, two-factor details, payout information and personal data about fans stay out – always. Refer to requests by a short reference, not by a fan's name. The checklist is a practical aid, not legal advice; if your contract is unclear or disputed, please speak to a lawyer.

Frequently asked questions
Do I have to tell my current agency that I am switching?
You need to give notice according to your agreement. You don't have to explain where you are going. Keep the notice in writing and note the date it was confirmed.
What happens to custom requests fans have already paid for?
List them before the end date and agree who delivers each one and by when. Fans who paid should get what they paid for, whichever agency is in charge.
